Nominations now open for 2021 UNSW Blues and Sports Awards Dinner

After a year of patient waiting as sporting competitions have been postponed and events cancelled, we are delighted to announce a new date for the UNSW Blues and Sports Awards dinner - to be held at The Roundhouse on Friday 12 March 2021.

At this event, the 2019 Blues and Sports Awards will be presented after the cancellation of the 2020 dinner and we have now opened nominations for the 2020 awards. 

Nearly all sports and the relevant UNSW clubs and athletes have had significantly and even drastically reduced opportunities to run a full program of events, competitions and opportunities for participation or compete themselves due to COVID-19. Hence while many clubs and athletes would be able to nominate for a Sports Award, and some clubs and athletes would be at distinct disadvantage compared to others. 

With this in mind, UNSW Sport has decided to present just three 2020 Sports Awards, that recognise the community spirit and / or sporting achievements of our community, as well as the Blues and Sports Recoginition awards.

The three awards will be presented to a team or club, a male student athlete and a female student athlete who have demonstrated exceptional community spirit; overcome adversity; shown resilience and determination; helped others in their sporting community; exhibited creativity, ingenuity, and positivity; and / or achieved sporting excellence.

To nominate a teammate, friend or yourself for an award, head over to our nominations page and complete the form by COB Monday 14 December. Nominees will be announced early in the new year, with winners presented at the event on 12 March.
